Do you have to pass any exams to receive a license to work as a product designer?

Do you have to pass any exams to receive a license to work as a product designer?
I'm sure there are some specific products where a license might be helpful as a practical matter (think of something that requires engineering or the input of a physician or pharmacist), but in terms of general consumer products I don't think a license is required to work as a product designer in the US.
