What is the meaning of long-overdue?
Long-overdue means something like a paper or a report that has been past its due date and it has been for a long period of time. It mainly refers to reports or in some cases, school assignments.
It can refer to many things, such as an apology, asking someone for a date, telling someone off.
it means that the author had been either anticipating the event for quite some time, or had been hoping that the event would occur. In the case of pregnant women, you will find that long-overdue could be as much as one month premature!
