Question

I have a signed teacher contract with the school i teach at. I found out today that the amount the contract was signed at was not correct. The school now wants to take the mistake out of my remaining checks. Can they legally do this?

Answer

If there was a mutual mistake as to a fact, that both sides relied upon, the overage may be owed. If that is so, way it is to be refunded, is to be by agreement.

If it is merely s case of sloppy work by the school, the teacher doesn't owe anything back, and shorting future checks would be wrong.

So, whether they can take money from your future check(s) depends upon whether you agree that you owe the money.

Good luck
