How do you become a cosmologist?

How do you become a cosmologist?
so you want to become a cosmologist. well first you need to understand what a cosmologist does. they try to find answers to questions regarding the origins and fate of the universe, and most of it is based around the work of Einstein. if a cosmologist is what you want to be, then you want a degree in physics. And I'm sorry to say that for the level of science you want to work with nothing short of a doctoral degree will do. A masters is fine for lots of research work, however theoretical physics is something that requires a doctors if you want to be taken the slightest bit seriously. Most physicist specialize in something like partial physics or astronomy. this would be a wise move on your part. And if you are still in high school i would recommend taking classes in math science and English in particular. if your not sure if this is really what you want to do then pick up a book on Einstein or Stephen hawking. if you can get an understanding of the kind of work that they did then you will get an understanding of the kind of work you need to do. realize that as many as 8 years of school is needed, and the price wont be cheap so make sure you are fairly dedicated to this before you go through. the bright side of being a physicist is that they get paid well, and there are thousands of backup job opportunities in case you don't get that job working on writing the meaning of life in the form of an equation. some physicist work for private company's and pharmaceuticals. as well as technology, so finding a job is fairly easy and if learning about the world is your passion then you have found the right place.
