What are advantages of hierarchical structure?
It is simple and easy to understand. Each person has a boss - one. In a matrix structure a person may have more than one person they have to report to. These people may send conflicting signals and have conflicting interests and values - putting the employees in difficult situations and requiring negotiating time and skills.
