What is money market?
According to Reserve Bank of India(RBI), money market is "thecenter for dealings, mainly of short-term character, in moneyassets; it meets the short-term requirements of borrowers &provides liquidity or cash to lenders. It is place where short-termsurplus investible funds, at disposal of financial and otherinstitutions & individuals, are bid by borrowers, againcomprising institutions & the government itself." Money marketis a short-term market for borrowing & lending funds. Theshort-term refers to a period of up to one year.
