I worked freelance for a company last January and I sent them an invoice and W-9 (I was in California) with terms of 30 days. They still haven't paid and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to force the issue? thanks!
Answer
You can retain an employment law attorney to write a demand letter. If they don't pay you after receiving the demand letter, you can sue. Hopefully, you have a well written contract that protects you in the event your clients don't pay. Call an employment law attorney to discuss.
Answer
Yes, sue them in small claims court if this is under $10k, assuming you have a written contract and proof of the amounts charged and due.
